Pouring Tips
In case you’ve been living in a house full of old ladies, here’s how to pour a good beer:
- Make sure your glassware is always clean and free of soap residue.
- Tilt your glass at thirty degrees.
- As you pour the beer, allow the head to pack down.
- As it fills, straighten the glass and let the head rise above the rim.
- You should now have a perfectly presented draught beer.
There are five rules when drinking draught beer, as beer drinkers of discerning taste will know. So, should it happen that you are at the bar next to an unenlightened soul, it is your duty as a beer connoisseur to inform this person of the five rules. The following guidelines need serious consideration prior to imbibing:
- Is the beer of the freshest quality?
- Is it served at the correct temperature of 1-3°C?
- Has it been perfectly poured and presented?
- Is it served by trained staff?
- Has the cleanest glassware and equipment been used in its dispensing?
Trevlig helg!
